Ispani, Salerno, Campania, Italy

Ispani is commune in Salerno comprised by Ispani and two fraziones: Capitello and San Cristofaro.  The most common communes that marry into Ispani families are Vibonati and Santa Marina.

The civil records were poorly maintained, often omitting one parent or another which, coupled with significant gaps in the records makes reconciling families virtually impossible.  Moreover there was inconsistent use of the actual location, substituting Ispani for both Capitello and San Cristofaro.  There are only a handful of birth records available after 1865.
